Massimiliano Zanin received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, in 2014. He used to be a post-doc researcher in the CTB. With more than 90 published peer-reviewed contributions in international conferences and journals, he has a vast experience in complex systems and data mining research. He understands both the theory and the application, and has collaborated with scientists from all over the world. His main topics of interest are Complex Networks, Data Science and its application to several real-world problems like modelling and understanding the aviation system or mining complex data sets. He is a member of the editorial team of: "Nature Scientific Reports", "The European Journal of Social Behavior", "PeerJ", and "PeerJ Computer Science and Complexity".
